Thaddaeus Ropac Paris Marais presents the first exhibition in 15 years devoted to Robert Rauschenberg's sculptural Glut series (1986-94), and the first ever held in France. Rauschenberg revolutionised the picture plane by including everyday objects, his "gifts from the street". In the Gluts he assembled and riveted found metal, such as traffic signs, exhaust pipes and radiator grilles, into wall reliefs and freestanding sculptures, in a wholehearted engagement with the poetics of recycling.
